Joe Bryl, who was once voted “Chicago’s most original DJ” by the Chicago Tribune, is a nightlife heavyweight. Not content to make his mark on the club scene solely with The Funky Buddha, Joe partnered with Terry Alexander and Donnie Madia a couple of years ago to bring Sonotheque to life.  Designed to be a listener’s paradise, the club wraps around music fans as snuggly as a set of headphones. Curving walls, acoustic tiles and speakers bathed in blue light make it clear that sound is a priority. Folks that have stayed away from the club scene for years due to high costs and pretension overload should stop in – you will feel like you have stepped into the club you have always dreamed of, especially on Wednesday nights when Joe is pushing his unique sound through the decks.
