Mixer: Horizontal Action Mix Title: Horizontal Action is a rock zine that makes no pretenses about what makes good rock. Practically all the defining characteristics of good rock 'n' roll start with the letter "S". Sweaty - Sleazy - Sneering - Sloppy - Subversive. Horizontal Action celebrates all of these things in smutty black & white. They cover the bands that are here to remind us that this ain't rocket science but it just might be as good as sex. I, Michael Nameche, was the lucky winner of that 2004 mix - and I am here to tell you that it totally rocked. It had an unreleased demo by the Ponys, a bootleg alternate take of the Stones doing Loving Cup, and a song called "My Purgatory Years" by a band called The Quick that I was totally obsessed with for a while. It was one of the best musical purchases I made all last year. No joke, these guys put together a killer compilation that went seamlessly from like 1962 to 2002 and I hope to win this year's submission as well. Here is hoping that you all sleep on it again. BONUS TRACKS: A Horizontal Action t-shirt (size large) A copy of issue #15 of Horizontal Action Call 312.255.9454 if you can not attend the party and wish to fax in a bid on a mix.
