Mixer: DJ Intel

Last year Intel gave birth to this tribute to Natalie Portman.  My friend Trevor won it and I am pretty sure that he bid on it mainly because he has always had a thing for the talented actress as well.  Well, Trevor scored big time; he has played the mix at many a party since for all his friends to hear and it is freaking genius.  I hope Intel can match the quality level of this 2004 mix because he was clearly inspired.  He is definitely a talented DJ whose time is due.

Intel One is a member of the local Platter Pirates crew of turntablists. He is also a member of TBA, (also known as Them Badd Apples), a platoon of 20+ writers, rappers, dj's, and breakers. This is an exciting time for Chicago hip hop – The Internet Era – as some local writers are calling it, where artists are promoting and distributing their work independently and collaboration and mutual support has replaced the traditional b-boy stance of vicious competition among crews.

THERE ARE NO ADVANCE TICKET SALES FOR THE MUSIC MIXER. $5 Suggested donation at the door.

Call 312.255.9454 if you can not attend the party and wish to fax in a bid on a mix. All faxed bids must be received by midnight CST on Tuesday, September 20th, 2005.
