Mixer: Dan Koretzky

Mix Title: &#!?!

Dan Koretzky is one of the two Dans (the other being his good buddy Dan Osborn) that started Drag City, a Chicago indie label powerhouse that has been rocking for 15 years. Their first two releases back in 1989 were singles by Pavement and Royal Trux. From day one, Drag City has always been a dynamic trendsetter; their refined taste for modern and experimental rock has not abated over the 200 + record releases under their belt. The story of Drag City's growth over the last decade and a half is a flow chart for the expansion of the independent music scene.

My good friend SD won Dan's mix last year which featured some found art from a beautifully pastoral Jehovah's Witness tract. We listened to it in the car once and it was cool and very diverse.  Perhaps Dan expected his mix to be a soul searching, life altering experience because he also included as a bonus Quicken's Willmaker Pro software - I have never asked SD if he used that software but it is always nice to have that sort of thing around.
