Mixer: Terry Plumming Mix Title: Three C.D. Box Set Terry and Abernathy Plumming are independent media concerns based in the Pilsen and Bridgeport neighbourhoods of Chicago.
Terry Plumming, which comprises a magazine, a CD-R label, a print shop and a promoter, is one of Chicago’s most vital young labels. Home to avant-garde noise and jazz acts such as Soft Serve, Fred Lonberg-Holn, Rotten Milk, Dan Layne and Bubblegum Shitface, Terry is dedicated to producing media for an unheard underground. Run by Eric Graf and a stable of collaborators, Terry Plumming can be visited on the web at www.diabolical.org. You can purchase most of the Terry catalog at HardBoiled Records on W. Roscoe St.
Little brother Abernathy Plumming is a startup curated by Jamie Trecker and Graf, dedicated to producing one-off mass-production media for regional acts. Abernathy will announce its roster in December. More straight-ahead than Terry, Abernathy’s first three releases will drop in early spring 2006. Abernathy can also be visited at www.diabolical.org/abby.
